Malting Barley Varieties

The steady rise of beer consumption world-wide results in increasing demand of malting barley. Malt production has developed more and more to a global business. The industry asks for varieties with a wide range of agronomical adaptation.

Spring malting barley:

ANNABELL ANNABELL is one of the most popular malting barley varieties in Europe. Its moderate proteolysis and good cytolysis meet maltsters and brewers demand.
BEATRIX BEATRIX is a very short and high yielding variety with official registrations across Europe.

BELANA

BELANA is a short straw type with high yielding potential and excellent grading. It has an enhanced proteolysis and cytolysis.
DANUTA DANUTA is a malting barley variety which perfectly fits under continental climate. DANUTA is very tolerant against all kind of diseasis especially against mildew thanks to its mlo gene
MARGRET MARGRET is a malting barley with high modification, which serves maltsters and brewers demands.
MARTHE MARTHE is a new top malting barley variety with significantly more marketable parts than any other existing malting barley variety. MARTHE has a very high quality profile. It is a medium early, consistent variety which is less susceptible to abiotic spotting.
SHAKIRA SHAKIRA is resistant against mildew and rhynchosporium and has a good malting quality. Especially its high diastatic power makes this variety very interesting.

URSA

URSA is a medium late malting barely variety. It is very strong in proteolysis and cytolysis.
XANADU XANADU is the top malting barley variety of the near future with increasing market shares especially in Eastern Europe. Its excellent malting quality has been accepted by most maltsters and brewers.
AURIGA  Continental all-round variety for dry and tough areas with shorter vegetation period and high grain quality. 
BOLINA  Very high yielding northern variety for areas with short vegetation period
THURINGIA Continental type for dry and tough areas, not for irrigation

 

Winter malting barley: 

MALWINTA First winter malting barley varitey of a new generation. Enhanced malting quality with good agronomical performance.
